To boldly suggest a pub crawl for C++ Toronto

Abstract

Various people have lamented our lack of direction, and that we don't have a pub crawl for the next meeting (or beyond). This paper aims to remedy the situation.

On Sunday, 2017 July 9, join Torontonians, Canadians, and C++ committee members alike on a walking tour of selected Toronto pubs.

Guidelines

Be kind to the staff. Respect the staff. Tip handsomely.

Drink water. Eat food. Enjoy the entire day.

Walking is recommended, but wear good shoes. Prepare for 12km at an average pace of 1.2km/h.

All pubs are accessible by public transit. Use public transit or taxi services if you don't walk.

Begin late. Check the schedule and join us at the next pub.

End early. Linger at your new favourite pub for a while.

Avoid arriving in large groups. Trickle in slowly. Skip to the next pub if the crowd is too large.

Prepare for humid weather. It may be hot, cold, rainy, cloudy, sunny, or some combination thereof.

Feel free to bring friends.

Schedule

Parameters

The schedule is precise but wildly inaccurate.

The schedule has slack for meals at the first and final pubs (with snacks in between). Shift the slack to satisfy yourself.

The schedule is actually two schedules. Pick one. Each has Ontario Craft Beer and English-style cask-conditioned ale. Schedule A adds more German- and Belgian-style breadth, whereas Schedule B doesn't bother.
